Spud Champions!!!!
The Sherwood Falcons are undefeated in their PEI Bantam AAA league with a record of 25-0-1 going into the Spud and probably thought that the Spud championship was within their grasp.
The Hurricanes would have none of that as once again they shut down their opponents by limiting thier chances and outshooting them 37-15. The lone goal of the game came in third on a short handed effort from Morgan Messenger. With the defensive effort shown this season and especially this weekend the Hurricane now add the Spud Championship to go along with their ESSO championship earlier in the year.
An impressive record on the Isand going undefeated with a 6-0-0 record the Hurricane breakdown went as follows:
Hurricane 1- Kings county Kings 0
Hurricane 2- West Kent Aces 0
Hurricane 6- Western Maroons 0
Hurricane 5- Mid Isle Matrix -1 - Quarter Final Game
Hurricane 4- Moncton Hawks 1 Semi-Final Game
Hurricane 1- Sherwood Parkdale Falcons 0 Championship Game
Hurricane Hockey is alive and well and now have added the 2011 Spud Champions to their list of accomplishments with a great team effort.
