Your League Leading Hurricanes move on to Championship
With only tournament games remaining the Hurricanes did what they know best...battle. The Valley Wildcats after winning the wildcard spot to make the crossovers had a few discipline issues and opened the door to the Hurricanes squad. Opening the scoring was Jordan Messenger (Shatford) in the first period.
The second period saw the Hurricanes build their lead with goals by Benight (Shatford, M. Messenger), Morgan Messenger (Lunn) and Benight (Jollimore) with his second. The Valley were able to respond with a late goal by Grant Janes which was unassisted.
A pair of unassisted goals in the third from Cooke and Nickerson were only answered with a single marker from the Valley by Blanchard (Ross).
Another strong performance in between the pipes for Wile helped seal the victory making the final 6-2 Hurricanes.
With the opening tournament championship on the line the players will refocus for an afternoon battle with hopes to cap off a long weekend.
