Aaron Hayne Joins The Novas Coaching Staff

The Novas are pleased to welcome Aaron Hayne to the coaching staff for the 2026–2027 season.

Aaron joins the Novas coaching staff led by Head Coach Jamie Mattie, bringing with him a strong background in competitive sport, athlete development, leadership, and team culture.

Aaron’s playing career included time at the Bantam A, Midget AAA, Junior B, and Junior A levels. Those experiences helped shape his understanding of high-level competition, preparation, discipline, teamwork, and the commitment required to succeed as an athlete.

Following his playing career, Aaron moved into coaching, working with young hockey players at the Atom AAA and Bantam AAA levels. In those roles, he focused on helping athletes develop both on and off the ice, with an emphasis on skill development, work ethic, confidence, accountability, and character.

Aaron also spent several years coaching university soccer, where he continued to work with student-athletes in a competitive environment. His coaching philosophy has consistently centred on helping athletes grow technically, mentally, and personally while contributing to a strong team culture.

The Novas are excited to add Aaron’s experience, perspective, and commitment to athlete development to the program this season.
