Hurricanes Bring Home Big Points After Tough Battle in Cape Breton

The team bus left early Saturday morning on route to Cape Breton for a 2 game NSMBHL weekend regular season set knowing they had a battle on their hands in order to get valuable points in the standings.  An opportunity for team building, Hurricane family building, team meals, stories and laughs also came along with the road trip.

Upon arrival to the rink Saturday night, it was time for business in preperation to battle an excellent Cape Breton Cougars team who stood in first place in the NSMBHL.  From the first drop of the puck to the final buzzer both teams went at each other with back and forth chances and the Hurricanes scoring one more than their opponent to take a 4 - 3 win.  A good post game meal and some much needed sleep for the boys was in order following an exciting game.

Sunday morning, both teams were back at it and again excited the crowd with fast paced NSMBHL action.  Continuous momentum shifts and back and forth scoring ended up in a 4 - 4 tie.

An overall very solid road trip grabbing 3 out of 4 points to improve the regular season record to 12 wins, 3 loses and 5 ties, good for 3rd place in the 12 team Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League.  Right now, your Hurricanes sit only 3 points out of first place.

Your Hurricanes are back at home this weekend before the Holiuday break with a two game regular season weekend series against the Dartmouth Whalers. Game 1 is on Saturday, December 22 at 6:00 PM and Sunday, December 23 at 11:00 AM.  Both games at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool.  Come out to cheer on your Hurricanes before the Holiday break and enjoy some great NSMBHL action.
