Western Hurricanes

Weekend Split with Halifax

With two of the top teams in the league going head to head this weekend, home fans were sure to be treated to some great NSMBHL hockey.

Saturday night saw your Hurricanes go up 2 - 0 only to have Halifax come back to tie it with two power play goals of their own in the second period as both teams headed to the dressing room tied after two periods.  In the third period, Hurricane players came out hard to net two goals to earn a 4 - 2 victory.

Sunday morning was another battle.  Despite outshooting the Halifax squad 32 - 15, Hurricane shooters could not get any through the Halifax netminder.  Halifax players worked hard, blocked shots and also capitilized on their chances to come away with a 2 - 0 win and earn a weekend series split.

Next weekend, the team will be boarding a bus for a trip to Cape Breton where they will play a two game regular season series against the Cape Breton Cougars.
