Western Hurricanes

Here come the playoffs

The boys came to play in Pictou but alas the tanks seemed to be on empty as the team played 10 games in 10 days and throw in a practice and the gas tank seemed to get emptied out.

The Valley deserved their win with good jump and ended up winning the Pictou Tournament. Three players were recognized by the Pictou organizers with Josh Shatford making the All Star team accompanied by Mark Jollimore. Alex Mann picked up the top defensemen for his efforts in a solid weekend for the team.

The expectation is always to win but certainly there is nothing to hang anyones head about as the Hurricanes managed a thirty win season won the Esso and Spud and through it all lost only a few games ..3 league and 3 tournament.

Now the real season begins and everyone goes back to the same starting point. The Hurricane will face off against Dartmouth in a mini series which is the best 2 out of 3 to gain your Provincial playoff spot. Each team in the league will go through these series to determine the final seven for the Provincial tournament.

Make sure you come out to support the squad as we take nothing for granted and will need the fan support to make sure we qualify for the big show. Watch for game site and details over the next few days as the schedule gets set for the showdown with Dartmouth.

Its go time and we will be looking for another gear and bring the force that is known as "Hurricane Hockey".
