There was little doubt, from the first drop of the puck, that the Hurricanes were serious about earning their spot in the Semi's.  Once again, solid defense, relentless pursuit of the puck on forecheck and solid goaltending when needed was a recipe for success.  The Hurricanes got a balanced attack with goals from 5 different players (J. Messenger, Adams, Shatford, Nauss and M. Messenger).  Not appearing on the scoresheet, but just as crucial, were the contributions from every player on the ice ... our 5 D-men who again broke up attempt after attempt by Mid-Isle to get something going out of their zone or through the neutral zone ... and great positional play by all our forwards, showing good responsibility on both sides of the puck.  Final score Hurricanes 5, Mid-Isle 1 and a date with Moncton Hawks pencilled in for 0930, snow or no snow!!  Rehydrate, get some carbs in, and get the snowshoes ready!
