Western Hurricanes

Hurricane take on Wildcats and it gets a littleâ?¦ wild

With a great crowd in Barrington the Hurricane were looking to solidify their hold on first place and gather two more points towards clinching the league title.

Today would be a day of the power play and penalty kill units for both sides as play was a little bit sloppy and players fought to keep their cool, however it seemed to be a losing battle. The Valley would strike first on a power play about four minutes in; Moody (Benedict) but that was quickly answered when the Hurricane scored on a nice dish wide from Morgan Messenger to Josh Shatford (M. Messenger) just a minute later. On the Hurricanes next power play they would make the Wildcats pay again as Morgan Messenger (Mann, Jollimore) would put the Hurricane up by one.

In the second frame Bronsen (Jollimore, Mann) would again strike on the power play with a highlight reel tip in that went under the bar. With under five minutes left in the second Morgan Messenger (Shatford, Harnish) would add the Hurricane fourth to close out the second.

The Hurricane, Josh Shatford (Jollimore) would trade goals in third with the Valley Blanchard (Thibeault, Rawding) to make the final Hurricane 5- Valley 2.

The Hurricane look to get back to more disciplined play with the rematch on Sunday.
