The Novas

First Female To Play In Showcase

Since the inception of the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League in 2010-2011, no female has participated or has been recognized to participate in the League's annual Showcase game of 2nd Year Bantam players. This season, Landyn Pitts (#27) has been selected to represent The Novas, along with her fellow team captains, Dylan Chisholm & Luke Gould, at this year's Showcase game. Below is the article that recently appeared on the NSMBHL website:

"This year’s NSMBHL Showcase game will include Landyn Pitts from The Novas, the league’s first female hockey player to receive this recognition.  A hard working two way player, Landyn is a key contributor to even strength and specialty team play with The Novas.  She is a tremendous individual who leads by example and her positive energy is contagious amongst her teammates.  Her play and leadership have earned her a role as one of the team’s assistant captains. She is extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such dedicated teammates and coaches.
Landyn volunteers her time with Minor Hockey programs and is proud to join her teammates to support Kids Multisport and Learn to Play programs.

The NSMBHL is proud to have Landyn Pitts represent the league in the Showcase game, and is equally proud to acknowledge her as the first female to achieve this recognition."
