The Novas

Home & Home Against Crushers

After a devastating loss to the Halifax Hawks the previous weekend, a refocused Nova team rebounded with two straight wins in a home & home series against the Scotsburn Crushers. On Saturday evening in Port Hawkesbury The Novas skated to a 9-1 win over the Crushers in a hard hitting but one-sided affair. Scoring for The Novas was Logan Chisholm and Chase Ellis each with 2 goals and 3 points on the night, Adam Hilling with 2 goal and Darren Waterman, Matthew Ellis and Jake Stewart with singles. Ewan MacDonald started in goal for The Novas and stopped 9 of the 10 shots that he faced.
The Novas played their second game against the Crushers Sunday afternoon at the Pictou County Wellness Center and were able to hold on to a 4-1 win in a much closer game than the previous night. Scoring for The Novas were Michael Putnam, Matthew Ellis, Matthew Raike & Mason Grant. Owen MacDonald earned the win between the pipes for The Novas stopping 28 of the 29 shots taken by Pictou.

The Nova also would like to recognize the following players that will be participating in the Atlantic Challenge Cup this coming weekend in Moncton, New Brunswick: Logan Chisholm & Jake Stewart as members of the Nova Scotia Under-15 team and Chase Ellis, Matthew Ellis & Del Welton as members of Nova Scotia Under-14. We would like to wish the boys good luck and are confident they will represent their team and provnce with Nova Pride.
