Here come the Bearcats
On Saturday the Bearcats were in Barrington to face the Hurricane. In the first period, Lucas Rushton opened the scoring for the visiting Bearcats and before the period ended, Jordan Messenger replied for the home town boys to even the score at 1-1 heading into the second. A lone goal by Noah Archibald in the second gave Truro a 2-1 lead and in the third, Lucas Sangster added a third and also an empty netter to insure a Bearcat victory.
Sunday's action at the BMO Centre saw Truro and Bedford trade goals for two periods and enter the third tied at four. The action was back and forth with both teams having opportunity to get the go ahead marker. With 4:58 left in the third, Bedford's Luc Poirier squeezed one in on Truro's Luke Melanson to end the game at 5-4. Also scoring for the Barons were Gregory MacMillan, Andrew Dumaresque, Brandon Pottie and Jordan Boyd. Lucas Sangster scored two with Brady Meech and Lucas Holman firing singles for the Bearcats. The Bedford win moves the team into sole possession of forth.
Truro picked up two points on a hard road trip and moved out of the bottom of the league standings. The Bearcast are home this weekend when they host the Bedford Barons at 430pm at the Colchester Legion Stadium and then host the Bubba Ray Gulls in Springhill at 2pm.
