Save The Whales

Current Novas, Hunter MacDonald and Kieran MacDonald, along with their friends Owen, Lucas, and Aiden were the first to discover a pod of beached whales on the shore in Port Hood and were the first to take action in helping out the stranded mammels. The entire Nova organization applaud the boys in recognizing thier environmental responsibility and in aiding the helpless pilot whales. You can read the entire store here:

Novas Annouce 25-Player Protected List

In accordance with the regulations of The Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League, twenty-five hockey players from the region have been identified and placed on The Nova's 25-Player Protected List following our Spring Identification Camp. Those twenty-five players are listed below. Those players not included on The Nova's 25-Player Protected List will be issued a NSU15MHL Player Release form and become eligible to be invited to the tryouts for any team in the Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League.

2023 Spring Identification Camp

The Nova U15 Major Hockey Team will be holding their Spring Identification Camp this month. This Identification Camp is open to all U15-aged players for the 2023-2024 hockey season that are members of the Antigonish Minor Hockey Association, Strait Area Minor Hockey Association, or the Cape Breton West Minor Hockey Association. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING NSU15MHL REGULATIONS
1) Only players who reside within a team’s defined Region may attend that team`s camp.
3) 
Players who do not participate in their regional team`s spring camp or fall tryouts for personal reasons are not eligible to participate in another teams tryouts. Players who fail to participate in either their regional team`s spring and or fall camps and are not duly released by that team render themselves ineligible to participate on any other league team. In addition, players who are offered a roster position with their regional team and who refuse to accept are  also ruled ineligible to participate on any other league team.
3) Regulations of the Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League require all registration forms must be received by The Novas and submitted to Hockey Nova Scotia prior to any player participating in the 2023 Spring Identification Camp. A player will not be permitted to participate in any aspect of the Checking Clinic or Spring ID Camp until registration is received and submitted to Hockey Nova Scotia.

2023 Nova Checking Clinic

The Nova U15 Major Hockey Team will be holding their Spring Identification Camp this month. This Identification Camp is open to all U15-aged players for the 2023-2024 hockey season that are members of the Antigonish Minor Hockey Association, Strait Area Minor Hockey Association, or the Cape Breton West Minor Hockey Association. All 1st Year U15 Players in the 2023-2024 season are required to attend a Hockey Nova Scotia approved checking clinic prior to participating in any U15 Major Identification Camp. If you are a 1st Year U15 player or have not participated in a Hockey Nova Scotia approved checking clinic in the past and are intent on attending The Nova U15 Major Hockey Identification Camp, you are required to attend a checking clinic. Goaltenders are not required to attend a checking clinic.
