Love Me Fish & Lobster U15 Major Hockey Provincial Championships

Love Me Fish & Lobster signs on as title sponsor for the prestigious Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League Championships

Love Me Fish & Lobster U15 Major Hockey Provincial Championships to be hosted by the Novas in Antigonish, April 4 - 7

Antigonish – Today, the Organizing Committee responsible for the Nova Scotia U15 Hockey Major Hockey League Provincial Championships is pleased to announce Love Me Fish & Lobster as the title sponsor for the upcoming championships hosted by the Novas in Antigonish, April 4-7.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to present the Love Me Fish & Lobster U15 Major Hockey Provincial Championships to the community,” says Kyler Bell, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee. “It was a quick conversation; Kevin heard about the opportunity to participate and quickly signed on.”

“I’m very happy to be able to support this tournament within our region,” says Kevin MacDonald, President, and CEO of Love Me Fish & Lobster. “These are the very best players in Nova Scotia. We feel privileged to not only bring this level of quality and competition to Antigonish, but by attracting over 150+ families to our community, bring broader economic benefits as well. It’s important to support our young athletes and support business within the province.”

“These are highly skilled, elite hockey players from our communities. As of today, only five points separate the top six teams, so you know it is going to be incredibly exciting hockey,” says Bell. “We hope to see people from all over the province coming out to see some excellent competition and support these players.”

The Love Me Fish & Lobster U15 Major Hockey Provincial Championships will bring the top swven teams from across Nova Scotia to Antigonish to compete for the prestigious U15 Major Hockey League title, April 4 – 7th. Billed as ‘The annual showcase for Nova Scotia’s future hockey stars’, the quality and speed of play attracts talent scouts representing semi-professional, and even professional teams. And deservedly so: many of these highly skilled players will advance to play in the highest divisions of competitive hockey within the Canadian Hockey League (including the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)), NCAA, U Sports, even Canada’s National Teams and the NHL.

About Love Me Fish & Lobster

Nestled along the shores of the Northumberland Strait in Bayfield Nova Scotia, Love Me Fish & Lobster is a 100% locally owned and operated seafood company committed to providing the best service to fishermen and ensuring the highest quality seafood to customers.

About the Novas

The Nova Major Team (Novas) is now into its 14th year of operation. The organization was created with the mission to provide 13–15-year-old players in Northeastern Nova Scotia the ability to develop and play the game of hockey at an elite level without having to leave their home regions—Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, Richmond, and parts of Victoria Counties.
The Novas last won the U15 provincial championships in 2015 and went on to win the Irving Oil Atlantic Challenge Cup that same year. Incredibly, 17 former Novas went on to lead the Cape Breton West Islanders to winning the 2017 Telus Cup, the Canadian Major Midget Championship title.

NSU15 Major Player of the Month-February-Abe Landry

Goaltender Abe Landry

Halifax Wolverines.

In the month of February Abe played in three of our 5 games and 18 minutes of another game facing 185 shots and allowing only 14 goals. He earned wins over Western, a shootout win over the Novas and took the Gulls into OT stopping 57 shots in that one losing 2-1. Abe is a graduating first year player with our team from Halifax, he is quiet and humble yet is a fierce competitor and does all he can to prepare to help us win on and off the ice.
